Umlaut.
Umlaut (pronounced: "oom'-lot") is a tall, blond, buxom beauty who had been adopted
by Bob Lee and his spouse when he was stationed in West Germany just five years before
his wife died back in the early seventies. At age three, the little girl had been
orphaned when her parents were gunned down by East German Stadtz Polizei as they
attempted to go over the wall from East Berlin. With no known name, a West German
bureaucrat with an unseemly sense of humor named her "Umlaut", the small double-dot
mark above certain vowel letters in his native language. Two years later, Bob Lee
and Mandy adopted the little girl and brought her to the U.S. It had been their dream
to have a little family, but Bob Lee's war injuries made that unlikely if not
impossible. Bob Lee and Mandy loved that little girl with all their heart and Umlaut
was an extraordinary young woman, in fact, an Olympic caliber gymnast in her early
teens. As she grew older and graduated from college, Umlaut was the kind of girl that
men wrote songs about and who would give up everything for her love. Oddly enough, she
is a lesbian and her family and friends know and love her regardless. Umlaut Taggert
manages the properties and holdings of the Boom Brothers, occasionally participating
in missions when they need someone they can trust as extra help. She rides a Harley
VD when the weather is nice and drives a Porsche 911 at all other times. Growing up as
Bob Lee's daughter and as a de facto sister of the brothers, she can shoot and fight
as well as any man in any bar in any town.
